Object: Findspot and Storage
Apart from the general details about an archaeological object, you can add some information on where it was found and currently stored.
You can do this in the appropriate tab called "Findspot and Storage".
First, select from the list the name of the modern country where the object was found.
Once selected, the system will automatically match it with the corresponding region.
You can alway leave country and region unselected in case you do not have enough information or select region only:
Fields "Discovery site" and "Discovered by" can be filled in a free form, with the most accurate description of the place (city, village, part of the region, region, exact spot etc.), the name of the expedition leader or the person who discovered the object.
Knowing the exact location, you can find it on the map and link the object to it. To do this, open the object in georeference mode:
Select the appropriate tool (point, polygon, line or circle), mark the corresponding point (or area) on the map and save the result. If necessary, you can use the search.
You can view a map in full screen or minimized mode:![]()
If this is relevant for your find, you can add all the information about where it is located/stored at the moment, whether it is on display, who is the current owner and give credits for any assistance provided in the Storage section.
