How to upload data for processing?

Read this article if you want to upload a photogrammetry dataset to build a 3D model or orthomosaic, or have georadar data and want to create a point cloud.
  1. Go to Drive https://rootscout.com/drive.

  2. Click “Create” from any of your folders in the “My Drive” section.

  3. Select “Upload data” from the dropdown menu.

  4. At the first step “Choose data type” proceed with “Upload for processing” and select from the suggested data type those you want to upload. You can select only one - either photogrammetry dataset or georadar data at a time.
The recommended size of the simultaneously downloaded data is no more than 1GB.

  5. Select and add files. You can simply drag and drop files into the appropriate areas, or click “Browse” and select them using your file system navigation. Once you have it all set click “Upload”.

  6. The uploading process has started. Do not close your browser until it is complete, otherwise the process will be interrupted. You can minimize the window instead and continue using the platform meanwhile.

  7. Once the uploading process of all files is complete, the "Process" button will become active. You can continue right away or go to your Drive to view the upload first and start data processing later.
  8. If you proceed with "Process" with a photogrammetry dataset at the next step you will be able to select from the available options (3D Mesh, point cloud, orthomosaic or DSM). You can select all at once as well. If you proceed with “Process” having a GPR data uploaded the system will automatically start processing the data and creating a point cloud.

  9. By clicking "Next" you will start the operation. Wait until it completes and the new data appears in your Drive folder.
